Airport for arrival is MONTEGO BAY (MBJ)
Cycle Jamaica is an all inclusive cycling vacation which includes 4 nights stay at an all inclusive resort based and 3 organized rides. There is time in the afternoons to meet up with fellow cyclists, spouses and friends to explore the island's many attractions, relax at the spa and to enjoy the facilities of your all inclusive resort.
Non cyclists are welcome and have access to our 24-hour concierge services, hospitality room, photo shoots, airport transferss, and to ride on the. sag bus and join in at our rest stop activities.
For cyclists we cater to ALL pace levels. If you are a newbie know that we make it fun for everyone and there is full service support at all times along the way. This is a concierge service tour with ride leaders as escorts for each group.
NO ONE IS EVER ALONE ON THE ROAD BY THEMSELVES EVER! These are group rides. No rider is allowed in front
of our designated lead rider who maintains the pace level. This is not a race. This is a FUN event. Please don't stress
or get geeky. We are here to have fun!
Our stops are well planned so as to ensure everyone experiences the real Jamaica: we will have a rest stop at a local fruit stall. Enjoy coconut water straight from the nut: the best rehydration ever! The Jamaican people are warm and genuinely friendly. You'll get to meet them up close and in their real world!
We have three ride distances each day. Long route, Short route and then the option to do the One way Short route.
Why not go longer? Several reasons. This is an early or late season event and its a vacation. So you dont want to be so exhausted that you cannot enjoy the resort after the ride. In addition, Jamaica is hot and humid. We want to return to the resort
before the 11am sun and most importantly be able to go at a comfortable pace and distance so you enjoy yourself
ANTICIPATED PACE LEVELS (this is not avg speed but the pace that we move at when on the flats. We always regroup on climbs)
We adjust the number of groups depending on participant registrations. We could have anywhere from 2-4 groups. This is a not
a competitive event by any stretch of the imagination. It is a RECREATIONAL EVENT. Please dont take the speeds and challenges too seriously. WE have a chill and relaxed vibe. Our rides are meant as season openers or closers. Chill - its a vacation!
#1 20-24 mph LONG This is for faster cyclists. There are no cycling guides to assist with pushes.
#2 17 - 20mph LONG This is a medium- fast ride with cycling guides there to help should you not be able to keep the pace. This group does the longer distance. Faster riders can get the opportunity to pull on the front. Just speak to the ride leader for the group.
#3 14 - 18mph SHORT This is more of a chillax pace for beginners, intermediates or those who wish just get their morning ride in but want to get back to the hotel for a tour or to be with family or just want a bit more relaxation time.
#4 10- 15mph (NEW!) Short This is for newbies, beginners and those who would like to learn more at an easy chill pace, from our expert coaches and skilled cycling guides. Happy to share our knowledge. We take joy in your improvement!
So come on, let's ride!

Grand Bahia vs Luxury Bahia..what's the difference?
What's the difference between the Grand and Luxury? Its smaller details - that touch of something extra - but it doesnt make the Grand any less Grand. Luxury is a smaller property so its more intimate. Luxury has a cold towel welcome, personalized check in and concierge services. Grand has a very large lobby that is expansive and open with nice shops and sports bar adjoining. If you stay at Luxury you have access to the Grand but if you stay at the Grand you do NOT have access to the Luxury side. LUXURY IS FOR ADULTS ONLY - so its quieter and no noise from children . It has more choice at the bar and also includes 24hour room service. All rooms at both resorts are spacious junior suites. The Luxury bathroom is a bit larger and has two wash sinks vs the Grand with only one. Both resorts have great seaviews . Storms Opinion: You will find me in the Luxury Seaview: best value with a great view. Note; Oceanfront rooms ONLY have king sized beds.
Negatives:
The hotel does not guarantee bedding. So if. you are two. persons who ideally want a room with two double beds, we request it. but its NEVER guaranteed. So it can mean that. one bed would be a sofa bed or a rollaway. Or. just one king sized bed. IF you cannot accept this: book two single rooms or don't come because we have No control over this.
Note that the flat TVs in the rooms are a bit smaller than average in both resorts and it can be difficult to get into the special restaurants so be prepared for to dine at the buffet which is extensive and with a wide variety of choice. There are some areas where there is red carpet that is very worn out. They are changing them to tiles but the entire process wont be finished this year. You may want to bring your own beach towel as sometimes they run out if the resort is full. Bring a power strip for your gadgets as they have limited three pronged sockets.
We have excellent value for money so that is what is important. Please do not imagine Ritz Carlton when you hear luxury: it's not that kind of luxury but this you can tell by the pricing.
We are here to vacation and have fun. We are a chill people,so please leave your stress behind once you board that plane: we don't need none of that here. Jamaicans are not going to receive negativity well. We are a positive people!
PLEASE be smart: BOOK EARLY!
Itinerary
Cyclists: 3 route options are provided each day - one short and one long. For those who ride under 16mph, only the shorter route is available. Sag vehicles are provided for ALL groups. Maps below are approximations and are subject to change depending local conditions. This is a fun event, please don't get too geeky!
DAY 1 - Thursday -ARRIVAL- Montego Bay
We highly recommend to arrive on the earliest flight you can get into MBJ airport so that you have time to relax and enjoy the hotel facilities and get your bike set up. We also highly recommend you book the VIP arrival services/Fast track called Club Mobay for so many reasons: you are met right off the plane and join the fast track through immigration and customs and then have a comfortable place to relax and have a snack and drink before heading off to your hotel as you await everyone to clear through. We group arrivals up to 45 minutes apart and it's an hour to the hotel, so a nice refresh in the lounge is just perfect. Its important to book it early because it often gets sold out early.
